This EatSafe report has been adapted into two peer-review articles and a policy brief.
Consolidating three EatSafe reviews, this report includes:
- A review of existing food safety policy documents that evaluated the content, scope, structure, and institutional landscape, identified gaps in the national food safety policy and its implementation strategy, and provided recommendations for strengthening the policy and its implementation strategy.
- An assessment of food safety legislation that analyzed the extent to which laws meet or fail to meet current needs and included recommendations to enable a more efficient food safety system in Nigeria that leads to improved public health and enhanced trade in food commodities.
- A food safety stakeholder mapping exercise that identified and categorised stakeholders relevant to the Kebbi region into different groups and interests.
